Fellow Sons, AMVETS family members, and friends,

On this Memorial Day 2017,  I am reminded of the words from President John F. Kennedy: "Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty."

Many have answered the call. In over 2 centuries of American history over 1.3 million service men and women paid the highest price, made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure we live in a country whose foundation pillars are liberty and freedom.

With unity and in the spirit of patriotism I would like to extend an invitation for all and encourage you to join the over 22,000 Sons of AMVETS across the country, 3PM local time, to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance to Honor and Remember those who have fallen in service. In reflection and prayer may these heroes of our country have perpetual peace in the presence of the Lord.

May God bless you all and may God bless the United States.
