The AMVETS Department of Florida Service Foundation continued their support of the Sons Scooter Program with a grant of $5,000.00.

ALL Squadrons, Department Commanders, 1st Vice Commanders, & Fellow Sons,

Today, the 22,000 + Sons of AMVETS nationwide join all Americans in prayer for those impacted by the tragedy in Las Vegas. Although we can never grasp the full measure of your loss we humbly ask God to provide you the strength during this most difficult time.

National Sons of AMVETS Commander Harold Collins was off and running in the first few weeks of his tenure. The initial travel stop was at AMVETS Post 12 in Muncie, IN to attend Flag Retirement ceremonies to honor “Old Glory”.

HELP HEAL VETERANS SELECTED AS COMMANDER’S PROJECT

Sons of AMVETS National Commander Richard Thibodeau will support Help Heal Veterans (HHV) through his Commander’s Project in 2019-2020.

Help Heal Veterans' mission is to support the healing and enrich the lives of veterans and military personnel. Healing arts and crafts provide a therapeutic experience for all veterans including those who are hospitalized, in shelters, in convalescent homes and those undergoing therapy for a wide range of physical and mental challenges. The kits, provided free of charge to the veteran, become a part of the patient's treatment plan, giving them a creative outlet along with tangible therapeutic and rehabilitation benefits.

Since inception, Help Heal Veterans has delivered nearly 31 million arts and crafts kits to veterans and veteran facilities nationwide, along with active duty military overseas.Kits range in categories including woodworking, leather, models, and a variety of needlecrafts, paint-by-numbers and many others.

You may visit www.healvets.org to learn more.

All are invited to join with Commander Richard to support our veterans and active duty members through this DIRECT to VET program. Donations may be sent to National Sons of AMVETS, 4647 Forbes Blvd, Lanham, MD 20706. Please make your checks payable to National SOA and mark the memo line HHV.
