In Memoriam PNC Stanley Mellott

PNC Stan Mellott

It is with deep sorrow to inform the membership of the death of Past National Commander Stanley Mellott. On behalf of my fellow officers and comrades nationwide our most heartfelt condolences go out to wife Charlene, son Jesse, brothers, Richard Mellott, Ray Slavin, and the entire Mellott family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this most difficult time.

As member of the Sons of AMVETS, Stanley was dedicated to the organizational mission of “Sons Serving Veterans.” He was a Son that was in the forefront to serve our veterans, community, and country. His commitment was evident during his commandership of the Department of Pennsylvania . As the 1991-1992 National Sons of AMVETS Commander his leadership laid the foundation for our organization.

Spiritus – Latin for SPIRIT - has added meanings which include vigor, courage, life, and soul. As we join together and remember Stanley keep in mind the vigor with which he lived, the courage he had when facing recent challenges, a life lived with passion, and a kindred soul that has touched the hearts of many.

All are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at AMVETS Post 224 located at 750 5th Ave, Chambersburg, PA.

A white flower is a symbol of purity. May each future generation of the Sons of AMVETS emulate Stanley’s unselfish dedication in service to our nation by serving our Veterans.
