National Sons of AMVETS Commander Harold Collins was off and running in the first few weeks of his tenure. The initial travel stop was at AMVETS Post 12 in Muncie, IN to attend Flag Retirement ceremonies to honor “Old Glory”. It was also a time to get some tips from Past National Commanders Robert Hammett, John Barnhill, Don Finnegan, and David Strittmather.

Next Stop was AMVETS Post 22 in Maryville, TN for the Commander’s initiatory Executive Board Meeting. In addition to meeting business, Therapeutic Craft Kits from HELP HEAL VETERANS were delivered to Squadron 22-TN for distribution.

Commander Harold was also spreading the word for his Project in support of ACTIVE HEROES. Their mission is to eliminate military/veteran suicide through peer mentoring, national activities, outreach programs and resources for our military heroes and their families.

THERE’S MORE? YEP!!!!

Commander Harold continues his personal commitment (over 500+ consecutive days) to the 22 PUSH-UPS a DAY campaign raising awareness of the suicide rate among our veterans.

SPECIAL THANKS to the AMVETS Family members of Post 12 Muncie IN & Post 22 Maryville TN. Your gracious hospitality was OUTSTANDING and GREATLY APPRECIATED.
