Commander Strittmather's Memorial Day Message

The words in the famous Kohima Epitaph state very succinctly what it is that each veteran gave to his/her fellow citizens. "When you go home, Tell them of us and say, For their tomorrow, We gave our today"

For over 240 years our liberty and freedom was secured by many brave men and women who gave everything, paid the ultimate price, and made the ultimate sacrifice.  The National Moment of Remembrance on Memorial Day is 3PM local time. I would ask that you join me and the over 20,000 members of Sons of AMVETS nationwide to pause and Honor and Remember the sacrifice of the heroes of America.

In service they soared as eagles, may they forever rest with angels in the palm of God’s hand.
