Commander Strittmather Leads Veteran Suicide Awareness Campaign

22 push ups

On March 26, 2016 National Commander David T. Strittmather did 22 push-ups in his basement to kick-off “22 Push-Ups a Day for 22 Days”. This effort is to bring awareness to the suicide rate among Veterans and those currently serving.

On day 12, WEWS NewsChannel5 in Cleveland, Ohio aired an interview with Commander Dave. This extra exposure is helping to get out the word that even 1 suicide is 1 too many. Click on the link below to view the entire interview.

Veterans rarely open up about any issues they are having let alone to someone that has not been in the military. This is why we are seeing Veterans, Reservists and Active Duty committing suicides at a rate of 17 - 35 per day. This is equivalent to a classroom full of children disappearing every day.
