VETERANS DAY MESSAGE FROM COMMANDER THIBODEAU

 RT VET DAY 2020

Fellow Sons, AMVETS Family, and Friends,
Braving the winter harshness in Valley Forge or in the desert heat during Operation Enduring Freedom, withstanding the minus 25 degree temps at the Chosin Reservoir battle in Korea or in the jungle heat at the battle of Xuan Loc in Vietnam, members of our nations Armed Forces have lead the way to secure liberty and freedom for all men and women. After reflection, it seems fitting to repeat the words of Veteran and former President John F. Kennedy: “As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
During Veterans Day 2020 I ask that you join with Sons of AMVETS nationwide to thank those in uniform today and those who have honorably served in the past. As President Abraham Lincoln so aptly stated: “Honor to the soldier and sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his (hers) country‘s cause. Honor, also, to the citizen who cares for his brother (sister) in the field and serves, as he (she) best can, the same cause.”
Sons of AMVETS and a grateful nation will never forget the sacrifices of our Veterans.
Yours Respectfully,
Richard H. Thibodeau - Commander
National Sons of AMVETS
